domino 8.5 (or 8.5.1),traveler, quickr and sametime on the same server ?

Category domino 8.5 quickr sametime traveler
Hi all.

Recently, i've upgraded our production server to 8.5 fp1. As soon as the french LP is here, i will upgrade to 8.5.1.

I've already installed traveler which work very well with our phones (nokia essentially).

But as many of you have notices, IBM is 'offering' us many product at no charge with new version of domino: Quicr Entry, Sametime Entry and traveler.

Well, at no charge ? really ?
i.e: everywhere i found that it is recommended to install sametime on its own server, same thing for traveler or quickr.

do i really need three servers (and of course three licences..) just to use traveler, sametime and quickr on my simple, 40 users organisation ?

I've done the test to install quickr entry on a french domino 8.5 fp1, just after installing traveler, and quickr refuse to install saying me that a quickr installation already exist in lotus program folder.
(maybe because i'm trying to use a partitionned server...)

Does someone already installed all this products together, on the same server ?
Where can we found documentation on combining all these products ?

One more thing: Is a 64 bits version of all this products will be launched ?

Gravatar Image1 - Hi Benoit, recently I was in a Lotus Quickr Workshop in Barcelona -> { Link } . We installed from zero in a 4 GB VM Ware virtual machine Lotus Domino 8.5, Sametime 8.0.2 and Quickr 8.2 all working perfectly. If my memory does not fail, for installing Lotus Traveler was mandatory to enable Internet site documents but Quickr does not support it. At work, I have Traveler in a little vm ware because I can have traveler 8.5 working with domino 7.0.2 mailboxes in a physical server. I don't know if i can publish the given Qucikr documentation. I will ask to ?¿ Ed Brill. I am not sure I can do it. And the two teachers were coming from France ! Au revoir, Emoticon

Gravatar Image3 - Traveler 8.5.1 and Quickr 8.2 have a conflict due to the Internet Site document requirement for Traveler and incompatibility with Quickr. While running Quickr and Sametime on the same server is not a recommended production environment, I have seen it work. As a point of clarification, the license terms for Quickr and Sametime allow usage of the underlying Domino platform without requiring a separate license. As long as the server is used exclusively for the add-on products and related administration, Domino licenses are not specifically required for these servers. You may need licenses for the underlying operating system, but that depends upon your choices and configuration.

I hope this helps!

Thanks for all these informations.

i'm happy to see that these products do not need additionnal licences. I will look further to undertand the licences terms.

bye.
